Lohals sits at the very northern tip of Langeland, where the land narrows towards the Great Belt and the sea is almost always in view. Today the town is a small, quiet harbour community — a far cry from the busy ferry town it once was, but still a place where most of life happens close to the water.

What can you do in Lohals?
Life in Lohals largely revolves around the harbour: rent a kayak or SUP board, eat at one of the restaurants in the old bathing hotel, take a dip in the sauna, or just walk the pier. Outside town, Troldeskoven forest, the Øhavsstien trail, good beach spots and some of North Langeland's best coastal fishing are all close by.
Is there still a ferry from Lohals?
No. The ferry route to Korsør, which for decades was Lohals's lifeline to the rest of the country, closed for good in 1998. The harbour is used by leisure boats today, not ferries — read the full story on our history of Lohals page.
